Preparing Your Wedding Business for Wedding Season 2022

Tips for Planners and Vendors

First of all, congrats on making it to 2022 wedding season! You managed to keep your business afloat during the pandemic, and now you’re probably getting all booked out. That’s amazing! You’re amazing!

Being booked out and working back-to-back weddings call for some serious preparation, though. There is a high probability of being stretched thin if you don’t plan. Early spring is the perfect time to take a long, hard look at your wedding business and make sure you’re ready for anything and everything the busy 2022 wedding season may bring.

Here are our best tips for planners and vendors:

1. Getting your team ready

It goes without saying: Your team has to be able to handle the upcoming workflow. Train your team, go over possible client/wedding scenarios, and make sure they’re ready to face what’s coming (with a smile).

If you’re considering reassigning some business tasks, now is a good time to do it. Communicate any changes you’ll be making clearly so that each team member knows what their responsibilities/focus is.

While you need to have enough experienced people to handle upcoming weddings, don’t forget about new business coming in. You’ll need a person in charge of responding to / managing new leads and making sure you’re booking future business while working on 2022 weddings.

2. Outsourcing/ Scheduling/ Automating things

Repeat after me: “I am an amazing, badass female entrepreneur, but I can’t and shouldn’t do all of it by myself. Outsourcing tasks will help me stay on track and avoid burnout. Scheduling and automating things will help me stay organized.”

If you’re taking your wedding business marketing seriously, you have a custom content marketing strategy in place by now. If you do, you know how time-consuming (even exhausting) brainstorming and creating content can get. The content includes all social media posts, your blog posts, and email marketing emails, too.

Working on weddings should not put your content marketing efforts on hold. This goes for all wedding planners and vendors.

Outsource content tasks that are highly likely to drain you, and focus on the big picture ahead. Once you have content created, make sure to schedule it or have another person do the scheduling. The same goes for your blog posts and email marketing campaigns. Have everything written in advance and then automate publishing/sending. (hint: we offer help with all of it)

You can do this with months worth of content. It’s one of the best ways to prepare your wedding business for wedding season 2022.

3. Managing your own time/space

Kindly let friends and family know that you’ll be having A LOT on your plate, and you won’t be able to hang out as much as you’d like to. Value me-time, self-care, and relaxing activities. Charge your batteries as much as you can. Say “no” as often as you may need to.

Declutter your workspace, and give it a good clean. Do the same with your vehicle. Working in an organized, neat space works wonders for your mental health and productivity.

If you’re feeling stressed out about balancing everything, protect your peace of mind by having systems in place. For example, have a booking system synced to your calendar and allow people to automatically book only on the days/times when you are available.

Calendly is a fantastic platform for this. You can update your availability within seconds and send clients, vendors, or team members a link to book a meeting/call with you.
